Brewery: Sauer
Town:
Roßdorf
Style:
Kellerbier
Color:
in krug so no visuals
Head:
fluffy white head protruding over krug
Nose:
malty
Body: medium
-bodied, medium carbonation
Palate:
dry and fruity, nicely balanced
Finish: dry and slightly bitter
Served:
on tap at the Felsenkeller in Roßdorf
Impression: Though not served via a true gravity dispense, this great kellerbier served in the the brewery’s nearby super atmospheric Bierkeller is only one notch below its rivals in Geisfeld. The increased carbonation is about the only real downside of this thirst quenching session beer.

Next beer or back to the beer list.

  1. My wife and I spent the night in RoBdorf. We greatly enjoyed their Kellerbier. The intown biergarten, and also the short walk to the Keller. Agreed, great atmosphere! I’m attempting to recreate this style, as I’m a homebrewer.

    1. Glad you enjoyed it, Darren. Good luck. Sure if you can recreate it, it would be popular in the English speaking world. There are such simple but great beers in Franconia.
