Merkendorf is a small village just north of Memmeldorf, so can also make a good base for exploring the area. Starting your trek on the 13 Brauereien Weg here is also a good option. Aside from that what this place offers is two fine small breweries, both offering great inexpensive food and large portfolios of good and often great beer.
